Overview
Incorporating a mix of both time tested, and new technology can seem overwhelming when it comes to burner components and setup steps. In Introduction to Oil Burner Set-Up and Igniters, we’ll teach the process of burner setup and provide an understanding of tools that will aid in your success as a technician. This course consists of four (4) lessons, each designed to build on one another. A short quiz will follow each lesson. When you’ve completed the course, you will be able to:
- Fully understand the differences between flame retention and non-flame retention burners
- Understand the difference between the Model AF and AFG burners
- Understand static pressure and the effect it has on efficiency
- Select correct burner heads for your application
- Understand the advantage of the M series Airtube combinations
- Use the Beckett “Z” and T-501 gauges for correct burner setup
- Understand the benefits of solid-state electronic igniters vs older iron core igniters
- Safely test high voltage igniters
